Thiruvananthapuram: A two-day workshop on agricultural research and extension beginning here on Tuesday will provide a platform for farmers in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamtitta districts to discuss their problems with scientists and officials from the Department of Agriculture and seek solutions. The workshop is being organised by the South Zone Regional Agricultural Research Station at the College of Agriculture, Vellayani, and the Department of Agriculture. K.R. Viswambharan, Vice-Chancellor, Kerala Agricultural University, will inaugurate the workshop and the interface with farmers. A press release said inputs from the interface would set the agenda and priority for future research activities in the institution. The interaction would also assess the impact of projects taken up by the research station. The station provides a 24-hour helpline service for farmers in the southern districts. Farmers can avail themselves of the service by dialling 9495548768.
