Vishnu loses
NEW DELHI: Top-seeded Vishnu Vardhan lost the final 2-6, 3-6 to the fourth-seeded Danai Udomchoke in the $15,000 ITF men's Futures tennis tournament in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Vishnu Vardhan has been seeded second behind compatriot Karan Rastogi for the next tournament at the same venue.
Yuki Bhambri, Rohan Gajjar and V.M. Ranjeethave been seeded fifth to seventh. While N. Vijay Sundar Prashanth and Vijayant Malik also made the main draw directly, Abhijeet Tiwari was the only Indian to be successful in the qualifying event.
Tiwari beat the third-seeded Koki Matsunaga of Japan 6-7(3), 6-3, 6-4 in the second and final qualifying round.
