Floral tributes paid to Mahatma

IN AWE: A German national garlanding the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, Father of the Nation, at Gandhi Museum on the occasion of his 63rd death anniversary. —

MADURAI: South Zone Inspector General S.S.Krishnamoorthy garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and paid floral tributes at Gandhi Museum on the occasion of the 63rd death anniversary of the Father of the Nation on Sunday.

The event was organised by Bharathiya Ilakkiya Peravai. A.K.Ramamoorthy, patron of the peravai, presided over the event in the presence of R.Rengasamy, Secretary, Gandhi Museum, and other office-bearers of the peravai.

Those who paid tributes include R.Chinnasamy, Deputy Commissioner of Police, freedom fighters I.Mayandi Bharathi and P.Mahendravel, correspondent, Vellaichamy Nadar College, M.Amanullah, secretary, Tamil Nadu Medical Council, and Prof.S.Chandra.

K.Bharathiyan, president of the Peravai, delivered a lecture titled ‘Living History'. Earlier, A.R.Albert welcomed the gathering.
