Sirsi finishes second in implementing job scheme

SIRSI: Sirsi taluk secured the second place in Uttara Kannada district in implementing works under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in all the 27 gram panchayats in the taluk.

Over 1,000 beneficiaries received Rs. 2,41,36,000 of wages, Rs. 14,37,000 wages for semi-skilled labourers and Rs. 46,86,000 for material , said taluk panchayat president Sadanand Bhat at a press meet on Saturday He said Sirsi taluk was first in the district in documenting gram panchayat properties in “panchatantra” software.
