Paritala case: VHR for re-opening CBI probe

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: V. Hanumantha Rao, MP, maintained on Sunday that there was nothing wrong in re-opening the CBI inquiry into TDP legislator Paritala Ravindra's murder in the wake of fresh media revelations.

He told reporters here on Sunday that a new angle to murder case raised doubts among people and that it would be better if the case was re-opened to unearth truth.

He wondered why certain key confessions were not taken into consideration during the inquiry.

Asked about Agriculture Minister Y. S. Vivekananda Reddy's defence of his nephew, former Kadapa MP, Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy and denying his involvement in the case, the MP observed that it was but natural for a close relative to defend a family member.

Mr. Rao flayed TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao for his ‘objectionable' language against people of Seemandhra. He wanted TJAC convener Kodandaram to appeal to the Telangana protagonists not to make ‘provocative' and ‘insulting' remarks against the Seemandhra people.
