Pune: Guinean Mandjou Keita scored thrice as host Pune FC thrashed JCT Phagwara 4-0 in the 12th round I-League match at the Balewadi Sports Complex here on Sunday.
After a barren first half, Keita scored thrice in the 48th, 64th, and 80th minute to put the match beyond JCT's control.
Asim Hasan struck in the 66th minute, as the host secured its second win in 12 outings of the tournament so far.
With this win, Pune FC has 12 points from 12 matches, with JCT too having same number of points in as many matches.
Salgaocar downs Mumbai FC
At Kolhapur, Goa's Salgaocar Sports Club defeated Mumbai FC by a solitary goal to strengthen its position at the second place in the points table in the 12th round of the I-League match here on Sunday.
Japanese import Ryuji Sueoka scored the only goal of the match in the 34th minute. With this win Salgaocar has 27 points from 12 matches, three behind table topper East Bengal, which has 30 points from as many matches. Mumbai FC, which suffered its fourth defeat, has 20 points and is fourth in the points table. — PTI
