Rubber Board to give green-budded stumps

Staff Reporter

KOTTAYAM: The Rubber Board has invited applications for procuring green-budded stumps during the current planting season. According to a press release issued here, the board will provide the stumps of clones RRII 105, 414, 417, 422 and 430 for eligible rubber growers. On a limited scale, the materials are being made ready for distribution from the Board's central nursery at Karikkattoor and regional nurseries at Kadackamon, Kanhikkulam, Manjeri, Ulickal and Alakode.

The cost has been fixed at Rs.12 per stump. Applications may be submitted in the prescribed form at the Regional Offices of the Board in Kerala, during the period from 1 to 14 February 2011. The maximum number of stumps allotted to each grower is limited to 500. Allotments will be made strictly on a ‘first come first served' basis. Priority will be given to small holders/marginal growers.
