Crying for attention

Left neglected:One of the important water bodies in Hosur town in Krishnagiri district is covered with water hyacinth. Residents in the neighbouring localities say that though the water is not used for drinking purposes, it served to be a key source of groundwater recharge for the surrounding areas. Unmindful dumping of waste from poultry shops nearby emanates foul smell and polluting the air in the area. —
