Boycott ‘Rachabanda', says TDP Forum

Staff Reporter

ADILABAD: The Telangana Forum of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Friday appealed to people of Mudhole Assembly constituency to boycott the ‘Rachabanda' programme to be attended by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy at Tanur mandal headquarters on Saturday.

Support to bandh

The Forum also announced its support to the bandh in Adilabad called by Telangana Joint Action Committee.

Forum vice-chairman and Mudhole MLA S. Venugopalachary, Boath MLA G. Nagesh and Adilabad MLA Jogu Ramanna told reporters that the TDP had already announced its decision to boycott ‘Rachabanda'. Though they were not against the development that may come through the programme, the boycott call was to make known the strong Telangana sentiment prevalent in the area.

The TDP legislators criticised the government for organising laying of foundation stones at the ‘Rachabanda' venue for different works in the district.

“It is rather laughable that the Chief Minister will lay the foundation stone for a school building in Adilabad,” quipped Mr. Ramanna.

Mr. Venugopalachary criticised the State government for keeping silent on many problems facing people though boasting to find solutions for them.
