Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: An auto-tipper for collecting garbage from households was unveiled by MCD West Zone chairman Shyam Sharma on Friday.

The civic agency has given the work of garbage collection in West Zone to a private company which transports the garbage to dumping sites after collecting it from every household.

Appeal

Mr. Sharma appealed to the locals to dispose of garbage only in auto-tippers and not at public places.

He informed that about 8,500 metric tonnes of garbage is collected by the MCD on a daily basis.
