Rae Bareli: Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Friday inaugurated several projects, visited villages and met people listening to their grievances on Day One of her two-day visit to her Lok Sabha constituency.
Ms. Gandhi started her tour opening a newly-constructed panchayat building at Lalganj where she also interacted with locals. From there, she went to the residence of Congress leader Upendra Singh, who passed away recently, and met the bereaved family, party sources said.
Ms. Gandhi later inaugurated a newly-constructed dharamshala (guest house) constructed by India Tourism Development Corporation at Dalmau.
She later visited the house of MLA Ashok Singh in Tej village where a marriage function is slated for Saturday.
