Enumeration of huts begins in town panchayats

KRISHNAGIRI/DHARMAPURI: Enumeration of thatched huts in all the seven town panchayat areas in Krishnagiri district and 10 town panchayats in Dharmapuri districts in order to convert them to concrete houses under the Kalaignar Housing Scheme commenced last Tuesday.
The town panchayats where the enumeration is being undertaken in Krishnagiri district are Bargur, Kaveripattinam, Uthangarai, Mathigiri, Denkanikottai, Nagarasampatti and Kelamangalam. The 10-day exercise will be supervised by the Executive Officer of the respective town panchayats. It will be carried out ward-wise and street-wise.
In addition to collecting details of the number of thatched houses, those involved in the enumeration will also take photographs of the hut owner along with his family members with the thatched hut in the background.
The Collectors' appealed to the public to extend their cooperation to the exercise.
They also appealed to the people to provide correct address, the details of the names found in the electoral rolls, details of the land on which the huts stood, ration card and property tax details to the officials.
