Raj Thackeray gets bail

Staff Reporter

Mumbai: A magistrate's court in Kalyan, Thane district, granted bail to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray on Saturday in a matter pertaining to the violation of a police notice, sent ahead of Kalyan-Dombivili municipal corporation elections last October.

Mr. Thackeray had breached the orders prohibiting him from being present within the corporation limits for 48 hours. Mr. Thackeray's lawyer Sayaji Nangre told The Hindu that the MNS leader was given bail for a “bailable offence” under Section 188.
