Police Inspectors shifted

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: In a major shuffle, Commissioner of Police T. Rajendran on Saturday issued orders shifting 132 Inspectors of Police.

A majority of the Inspectors heading the law and order and crime wing in different police stations in the city were shuffled with immediate effect. Six Inspectors in the Central Crime Branch and 10 Inspectors in the traffic investigation wings were also transferred.

Some Inspectors were kept on compulsory wait without a posting.

Though the transfers come ahead of the elections, police sources maintained that the move was purely on administrative grounds and based on the performance of each official.
