Abhishek strikes winner

NEW DELHI: Abhishek scored the match-winner as host Shyam Lal College defeated Kirori Mal College 1-0 in the semifinals of the first Padmashree Shyam Lal memorial inter-college hockey tournament on Saturday.

In the other semifinal, Moti Lal Nehru Evening College defeated Shri Venkateshwara College 8-1, with Praveen Kumar (3), Varun Bhardwaj (2), Mukesh Dalal (2) and Balram doing the scoring.

The final will be played on Monday.
