Loyola lifts cup
CHENNAI: Loyola College lifted the Mohanmullji Chordia Gold Cup Twenty20 Trophy here after registering a five-wicket win over AM Jain College on Saturday.
The scores: Men: AM Jain 159 in 20 overs (Manibharathi 40, Karthikeyan 44, Garry three for 25, Giripal three for 20) lost to Loyola 160 for five in 17.3 overs (Hariraj 37, Avvaikarasan 34 n.o.).
Pachaiyappa's 174 for seven in 20 overs lost to RKM Vivekananda 175 for five in 19.5 overs (Rohit 60 n.o.).
Women: SDNB Vaishnav 139 for four in 20 overs (Hemalatha 49 n.o., Sindhu 26) bt AM Jain 113 for three in 20 overs (Smitha Martina 51 n.o.).
S.S. Shasun 105 for five in 20 overs (Divya 32) lost to JBAS College 106 for five in 20 overs.
Cricket tournament
The 11th edition of the Gurunanak College invitation cricket tournament for the Prof. T.V. Ramana Trophy, sponsored by Hero Honda, is scheduled at the Guru Nanak College ground here, from February 7 to 12.
Eight City colleges including Vivekananda, Pachaiyappa's and Loyola, two schools, St. Bede's and Vyasya Vidyalaya (Kancheepuram) and one University, SBN Jain from Bangalore, will vie for the trophy.
