Kozhikode: The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) handed over “evidence” of an alleged conspiracy against party State general secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty to Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy at the Government Guest House here on Sunday. The party leaders said the evidence of the conspiracy behind reviving the ice-cream parlour sex-scandal case included records of telephone calls corroborating the involvement of people from a ruling party. Muslim League leaders, led by Mr. Kunhalikutty, handed over the evidence to Mr. Chandy. They declined to divulge any details, with Muslim League State secretary E.T. Muhammed Basheer and Mr. Chandy asking presspersons to “wait and see.” Mr. Kunhalikutty later told presspersons at League House here that the party secretariat would meet here for the second consecutive day on Monday to discuss tactics for the Assembly elections. He said the ice-cream parlour sex-scandal case would in no way affect the prospects of the party.
