Getting physical: Venkatapati Raju, a supporter of Congress legislator SANGAREDDY: A supporter of Congress legislator T. Jayaprakash Reddy was beaten up by the activists of the Osmania University Students Joint Action Committee and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in Sangareddy on Monday. It is alleged that a OUJAC activists removed the flexi of Mr. Jayaprakash Reddy at the spot where the students were holding a meeting as part of their bus yatra. Seeing that, one Venkatapati Raju, a supporter of the MLA, who was there, removed the flexi of TRS near the new bus stand leading to the fight. Soon after that, the JAC and TRS activists beat Venkatapati Raju and in the process he met with a head injury. He was immediately shifted to a hospital. On coming to know of the incident, the supporters of the MLA gathered at the bus stand in large numbers and removed the flexi boards and posters of the TRS and staged a ‘rasta roko' for some time. Timely intervention by the police saved the day from taking an ugly turn. MLAs supporters lodged a complaint with the police against former MLC R. Satyanarayana, JAC convenor Ashok Kumar and others in this regard.
