BERHAMPUR: Inhabitants of the city may again face problems to pay up their electricity bills as the members of the Berhampur unit of the Southco Meter Readers' Sangh (SMRS) started agitation from Monday.
Around 110 meter readers involved in spot billing for the power distribution company Southco in the city and its periphery are taking part in this agitation. They started dharna in front of the corporate office of the Southco from Monday. They have threatened to opt for cease work agitation from Thursday if their demands were not met till then.
These agitating meter readers are demanding immediate payment of their past dues, andto be recognised direct employees of the Southco.
They alleged that they have not been paid their dues for the months of November, December and January.
