TRS for delinking of Upper Manair

Urge separate budgetary allocation

HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samiti MLA from Sircilla K. T. Rama Rao has appealed to the State government to delink the Upper Manair project from the scope of Pranahita-Chevella project and undertake it as a separate medium irrigation project with high priority.
Representation
In a representation he submitted to Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy at his camp officer here on Tuesday, Mr. Rao wanted the government to make separate budgetary allocation to the project in the forthcoming Budget session of the Assembly and ensure its completion on the fast track. He recalled numerous proposals had been made since the Upper Manair project was inaugurated in 1955 to increasing its scope and ayacut but no progress was made. Now, the government had decided to take up Pranahita-Chevella in two phases with first phase, limited to mid-Manair, proposed for completion in 2015.
