Supreme Court allows hearing of Trust's application by High Court
J. Venkatesan
New Delhi: The Supreme Court has allowed the Madras High Court to proceed to hear an application filed by the Mazdoor Welfare Trust for a direction to remove the administrator from the office of the Southern Railway Mazdoor (SRM) Union-managed Anjalai Ammal Mahalingam Engineering College.
A Bench of Justice D.K. Jain and Justice H.L. Dattu, in a brief order said “the application {pending in the High Court} seeks a direction to the single judge to dispose of the application without being influenced by the pendency of the special leave petitions and the interim orders passed therein.” The Bench, after hearing counsel for both the parties said: “Senior counsel appearing for the SRM Union states that none of the parties before the single judge have raised any objection to the said application being taken up for final disposal. In view of the statement, no orders are called for in these applications and the same stand disposed of accordingly.”
