Kochi: A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court, on Wednesday, permitted the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) to pay a compensation of Rs.2.5 lakh each to the legal heirs of those who lost their lives in the Pulmedu stampede. The Bench, comprising Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice P.S. Gopinathan, gave its approval on a petition filed by the Board seeking permission for paying compensation. The court also suggested forming a fund for paying compensation and medical assistance to the devotees. The court directed the Board to take a policy decision in this regard within three months.
