Kills mother over Rs. 50

Bangalore: In a shocking incident, a 35-year-old man allegedly battered his mother to death when she refused to give him Rs. 50 to buy liquor.
The gruesome murder occurred at Pragathipura near Kumaraswamy Layout here on Thursday night. The police arrested Vinayaka, who made a living selling old newspapers, on the charge of killing Meenakshamma (55).
Vinayaka, her second son, demanded Rs. 50 from her for liquor and when she denied him the money, he took an iron rod and pierced her eye before battering her head and impaling her stomach.
