IN PROGRESS: The second phase of Buckle Canal work is under way for a stretch of 2.4 km at Alagasapuram-Anna Nagar 6th Street at an estimated cost of Rs. 7.5 crore, Fund of Rs. 4 crore has been sanctioned for carrying out the third phase of the work. The historic canal was constructed by the British to drain rainwater into the sea to prevent flooding of Tuticorin town
