Sacred Hearts' team tops Karavali Utsav sports meet

CHAMPIONS:The team of Sacred Hearts' High School, Mangalore, which topped the District Karavali Utsav Sports Meet.

MANGALORE: At the District Karavali Utsav Sports Meet held at Mangala Stadium here recently, Sherly, Sandra, Trinette and Deeksha, all students of Sacred Hearts' High School, Kulashekar, won the overall championship in the girls under-14 girls relay. Deeksha also got first place in high jump and long jump and second place in 100m race. Joyson, Sushan, Gladen and Delton won the first place in the boys under-14 relay race.

Udupi boy for Malaysia

Chethan Shenoy (aged 10), a class 5 student of Sagar Vidya Mandir, Udupi, will participate in the International Mental Arithmetic Competition 2011 to be held in Malaysia, says a release.

Earlier, he has won the first prize and championship at the State-level competition held in Bangalore in December 2009. He also secured the first prize and championship at the national level, 2010, it said.
