Sonia lacks morals: Jagan

Special Correspondent

‘Ensuing bypolls will usher in vast changes in the political scenario'

KADAPA: Former Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy made caustic remarks against UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi alleging that she lacked morals and lost the moral right to continue in politics.

Addressing Arya Vysyas at the Vasavi Kalyana Mandapam at Vempalle on Sunday, he said the forthcoming byelections to Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly constituency would usher in vast changes in the political scenario.

Justifies charge

Justifying his charge against Ms. Gandhi, he alleged that her morality can be gauged by her attempts to field his paternal uncle and Minister for Agriculture Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy against Vijayamma, the latter's sister-in-law.

Mr. Jagan charged the State government with failing to implement fee reimbursement scheme and to construct Indiramma houses after YSR's demise. He alleged that the Kiran Kumar Reddy government was confused on issuing white ration cards.

Plea to elect him

He appealed to the people to elect him and his mother from Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency and Pulivendula Assembly constituency respectively. An MPTC member Suseela, her husband Seshu and followers joined Mr. Jagan's group in the meeting. Mr. Jagan also inquired about the health of ailing Arya Vysya leader Gangaiah and Congress OBC Cell chairman Bhogaraju in Vempalle. The former MP unveiled YSR's statues at Archanapalle and Miduthur and offered prayers in a church at Alladupalle.
