Ghola HS in semifinals

KOLKATA: Ghola High School defeated Children's Academy by a solitary goal to ensure a semifinals berth in the Mahindra Youth Football Challenge (under-14) here at the Rabindra Sarobar Stadium on Tuesday.

In another quarterfinal, Sukantanagar HS edged past Madarpur Subhash HS 2-1, Pandua HS downed Jatragachi Pranabananda HS 1-0, while Chowbhaga HS got the better of Gustia KV Vidyalaya 4-0 in a tie-breaker.

Ghola HS will take on Sukantanagar HS, while Chowbhaga HS will meet Pandua HS in the semifinals on Wednesday.

The results:

Quarterfinals: Ghola HS 1 (Mannan Mondal) bt Children's Academy 0; Chowbaga HS 0 (4) bt Gustia KN Vidyalaya 0 (2) in a tie-breaker; Pandua HS 1 (Durga Mandi) bt Jatragachi Pranabananda HS 0; Sukantanagar HS 2 (Jayanta Mondal, Nihai Ahmed) bt Madarpur Subhash HS 1 (Surojit Sarkar) .
