US pharmacy director interacts with Vignan students

Indian Pharma.D curriculum should be of equal standard as that of US, he says


GUNTUR: Lohit Tutupalli, Director of Pharmacy, San Joaquin County Hospital, US on Tuesday shared his experiences as a pharmacist with the students of Vignan Pharmacy College.

Dr. Lohit spoke on scenario of pharmacy practice in India and US and provided information on how to register as pharmacist in US, Australia and South Africa.

He also delivered talk on the Pharma.D curriculum in US and pointed out that Indian Pharma.D curriculum should be of equal standard as that of US to enable one to work in US. The final year of curriculum in Pharm.D in US is a heavy course containing medical grounds where students should visit hospital in-patients and work on prescriptions, drug interactions and pharmacokinetics.

Principal P. Srinivasa Babu was present.
