Youth attempts suicide for Telangana

ADILABAD: Yadagiri Srinivas, a 25-year-old Telangana protagonist attempted self-immolation on Tuesday at the Telangana hunger strike camp in Bellampalli. He was admitted to MGM hospital with 80 per cent burn injuries.

Srinivas belongs to Md. Khasim basti of Bellampalli. He is stated to have taken the step on being disturbed over delay in formation of Telangana.

Meanwhile, Chennur legislator (TRS) Nallala Odelu was among the 142 pro-Telangana activists arrested by police when they staged rasta rokos as part of the ‘jail bharo' programme.

Seven cases registered

Seven cases have been registered against the arrested persons at different places across the district.
