RANCHI: Kerala will be the overwhelming favourite when it takes on West Bengal in the women's volleyball final of the 34th Jharkhand National Games here on Thursday. Kerala made mincemeat of Karnataka 25-15, 25-50, 25-8, while West Bengal thrashed Andhra Pradesh 25-15, 25-21, 26-24. Tamil Nadu men looked to be cruising along, after winning the first two sets in the men's semifinal, before Uttarakhand put in an inspired performance to take the match to the fifth and deciding set. Tamil Nadu managed to win 25-23, 25-19, 28-30, 23-25, 15-11 in two hours and seven minutes. In badminton, the Andhra Pradesh and Kerala teams booked their places in the semifinals in both the sections. The results: Volleyball: Semifinals: Men: TN bt Uttarakhand 25-23, 25-19, 28-30, 23-25, 15-11. Women: Kerala bt Karnataka 25-15, 25-20, 25-8; West Bengal bt AP 25-15, 25-21, 26-24. Badminton: Quarterfinals: Men: Kerala bt Delhi 3-0; TN bt Jharkhand 3-0; MP bt Assam 3-1; AP bt WB 3-0.
