Approach authorised TV service centre, Collector tells beneficiaries
Special Correspondent
VILLUPURAM: Collector R. Palanisamy has said that if the free colour television sets given by the government do not work properly, the beneficiaries should approach the authorised service centre.
In a statement released here, the Collector noted that during the warranty period, the authorised service centre would attend to the problem free of cost. If the beneficiaries take the TV sets to unauthorised service centres, they would collect repair charges.
The Collector said that for the 36 municipal wards in Villupuram, as many as 33,000 TV sets had been allotted and 20,305 distributed to residents of 31 wards.
Of these, only 60 sets developed minor problems and were set right immediately by the authorised service centre. The remaining TV sets would be given away to beneficiaries by Higher Education Minister K. Ponmudy before February-end.
In case of any problem with the TV sets, the beneficiaries could approach the ESTV & CT Services, No. 4, Kandasamy Layout, Kandasamy Layout, Villupuram.
