Coimbatore: Eighteen people, including a woman, were arrested by the Coimbatore City and Rural Police from various places during a drive against unauthorised sale of liquor. It is learnt that the accused indulged in unauthorised sale of liquor at premium rate taking advantage of the closure of liquor shops on account of Milad-un-Nabi celebrations. Police seized 188 liquor bottles and also recovered Rs 5,130 cash. Drive against flesh trade During a drive against flesh trade on the outskirts of the city, police have arrested a broker Venugopal (26) of Palakkad and rescued two commercial sex workers. The two have been sent to government home.
