CHENNAI: About 200 members of the Bharatiya Janata Party, including its State president and former Union Minister, Pon. Radhakrishnan, were arrested for attempting to march towards the office of the Sri Lankan Deputy High Commissioner here on Thursday.
According to police sources, the BJP cadre raised slogans condemning the arrest of Tamil Nadu fishermen by Sri Lankan Navy and demanded their immediate release.
They urged the Centre to ensure that steps be taken to protect the interests of the fishermen.
Those arrested were released later, the sources added.
