CBI arrests woman at airport

CHENNAI: The Central Bureau of Investigation arrested a woman who landed here from Canada on Thursday.

Fake documents

According to sources in the agency, Rajshree (47) was accused of pretending to be one Lingamma Narayanaswamy and obtaining a passport using fake documents.

The CBI had chargesheeted her in the case. Since the accused could not be secured during trial, the designated court declared her a proclaimed offender.

Early on Thursday, immigration authorities detained Rajshree, who arrived from Canada using a Canadian passport.

Produced in city court

The CBI's Special Crimes Branch police arrested her. She was produced in a city court and remanded to judicial custody. Rajshree had married a Sri Lankan national while in Chennai a couple of decades ago. She then went to Canada and settled there, the sources added.
