Khadi exhibition from today

BIJAPUR: The 10th Khadi Utsav will be held here at Kandgal Hanumantrai Rangmandir for 15 days from Saturday. Khadi Utsav Committee vice-president Bapugowda Shegunashi said on Thursday that Additional Deputy Commissioner G.S. Jiddimani would inaugurate the programme.

Addressing presspersons here, he said that the utsav has been receiving overwhelming response from the people in the district as it recorded sales worth Rs. 85 lakh in 2007, Rs. 92 lakh in 2008, Rs. 78 lakh in 2009 and Rs. 80 lakh in 2010. Sales were low in 2010 as people in rural areas were affected by the floods the previous year.
