JPC probe should cover all scams: BJP
Staff Reporter
ONGOLE: BJP senior leader M. Venkaiah Naidu on Friday demanded that the Congress-led UPA Government order a thorough probe into S-Band spectrum scam for taking action against the guilty.
Mr. Naidu wanted the Centre to make public the agreement between Indian Space Research Organisation's commercial arm Antrix Corporation and Bangalore-based Devas Multimedia.
He told reporters here: “Mere cancellation of the agreement will not suffice. Responsibility should be fixed on those behind the deal and action taken against them.” Not satisfied with the government agreeing for a JPC probe into the 2G scam, he said:
“We want the JPC to cover all scams, including CWG and Adarsh Housing Society. Whether the government agrees or not, we will continue our fight till all corruption cases are pursued fully and the guilty punished.”
Ahead of the Budget session of Parliament, he said the BJP would exert pressure on the Centre during the session to allow export and inter-State movement of rice so that farmers, who were saddled with 68 lakh tonnes of paddy, got a better price for their produce.
