Join non-cooperation movement, Congress MLAs told
Staff Reporter
ADILABAD: The Telangana Forum of Telugu Desam (TDP) legislators on Saturday appealed to the group of Congress MLAs from the region to return to carry on the struggle for a separate State from Hyderabad. “start non-cooperation, obstruct your Ministers”, was the suggestion put forward by Forum convenor Nagam Janardhan Reddy. Inviting the Congress MLAs at a press conference here to join hands with pro-Telangana forces Mr. Reddy said such a move will receive immediate and positive response from Congress high command. The Forum, represented on Saturday by senior leader T. Devender Goud, district TDP president Gone Hanmanth Rao, Adilabad MP Ramesh Rathod and MLAs Jogu Ramanna (Adilabad), G. Nagesh (Boath), S.Venugopalachary (Mudhole) and Suman Rathod (Khanapur), also criticised the Justice Srikrishna Committee on creating the spectre of naxalism to obstruct formation of the new State. “If this ruse causes hindrance to our objective we will take the Committee chairman and members to court”, the Forum convenor warned. The Forum also demanded the government give national status to Pranahita-Chevella project and revoke the suspension of five MLAs.
The TDP leaders attended a dharna staged by party workers in front of the Collectorate demanding release of funds for fee reimbursement scheme among other things.
