‘Successors of freedom fighters should contribute their mite' The conference adopts a resolution urging the Centre and State to take urgent steps
Freedom fighters unite to fight corruption in Ongole on Sunday. ONGOLE: Freedom fighters in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday expressed their resolve to launch yet another struggle on the lines of the freedom struggle to root out corruption from public life. The Gandhians led by Andhra Pradesh State Freedom Fighters Association M S Rajalingam said “there is an urgent need for a national movement to curb rampant corruption. Successors of freedom fighters should contribute their mite in launching a relentless struggle to cleanse public life.” The freedom fighters including Prakasam District Freedom Fighters Association President K Venkateswarulu paid floral tributes to Andhra Kesari Tangaturi Prakasam Pantulu ahead of their state executive meeting to discuss various issues pending with the state and central governments. The conference adopted a resolution urging the Union and State Governments to take urgent steps to curb soaring prices of essential commodities, which dealt a heavy blow on them. The conference was attended by, among others, its state General Secretaries Y Krishnamurthy, G S K Malla Reddy and state vice-Presidents G Narayana Rao and M Rachandra Reddy. They urged the state government to hike the pension to Rs. 13,000 per month as given to their counterparts at the national level.
