Sirsi: From the next academic year, Bharat Scouts and Guides and Bharat Seva Dal will be made compulsory in the curriculum for primary and secondary education, said Vishweshawar Hgede Kageri, Minister for Secondary and Higher Education. . He was inaugurating the Bharat Scouts and Guides District Society unit here on Saturday. He said discussion was on to handover Scouts and Guides unit from Youth and Sports Service to Education Department. The matter had been sent to the Governor for approval, he said. Till then the funds set aside for Scouts and Guides would be diverted to Education Department from Youth Sports and Service Department, Mr.Kageri said. Separate building He said a separate building would be built for Bharat Scouts and Guides and Seva Dal.He said Scouts and Guides and Seva Dal will help develop discipline and social awareness, and make students responsible citizens. Tahsildar Krishnamurhty H.K., who was the guest, said if the proposal was submitted for a separate building, it would be forwarded to the State Government.
