Five arrested on robbery charge

Bangalore: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have arrested five persons on the charge of robbery, theft and extortion in Jnanabharathi here on Saturday.

The Organised Crime Wing attached to the CCB identified the arrested as Manjunatha alias Thodalu Manja (25) of Pattegar Palya, Manjunatha alias Kirik Manja (21) and Anil Krishnappa (22) from Mariyappana Palya, Lankesh Rangappa (35) of Jai Maruthi Nagar near Nandini Layout and Amar Govindaraju (33) of Munikrishna Layout near Palace Guttahalli.

Hideout

The accused were arrested from their hideout when they were planning to kill Manjunath alias Hebbettu Manja, the police said.

The arrested, said to be associates of rowdy-sheeter Korangu Krishna, were found to be involved in robbery and dacoity cases in various parts of the city, said the police.

The police have seized wooden logs, iron rods, machetes, mobile phones and a car from the arrested.
