Peddapalli, Nizamabad rail link by 2012

Staff Reporter

KARIMNAGAR: The ambitious and long-pending dream of railway train connectivity between Peddapalli and Nizamabad via Karimnagar would be fulfilled at any cost by March 2012.

Speaking to newsmen here on Sunday, Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar said the MPs of the region would take all measures to ensure allocation of funds in the coming Railway Budget for the early completion of the railway line.

He said that the completion of railway line from Peddapalli to Jagtial via Karimnagar and Gangadhara railway stations was yielding good revenue to the railways with the transportation of goods such as granite, fertilizer, foodgrain etc. He hoped that the Peddapalli to Nizamabad railway line would be completed and the railways would operate a train service by March 2012.

On his proposal for a new railway line from Secunderabad to Karimnagar via Siddipet, he said the Railway Ministry had responded positively and instructed the railway authorities to conduct a survey work.
