Siblings drown

TIRUCHI: A five-year-old boy and his seven-year-old sister drowned while bathing in Uyyakondan river at Adavathurpalayam near Somarasampettai on Sunday.

Muthukumar was reportedly dragged in by water currents and Keerthika who tried to save him also drowned.

Muthukumar, the only boy, was the sixth child of his parents after five daughters.

The Somarasampettai police have registered a case.
