Basheer strikes for CCOB

HYDERABAD: City College Old Boys (CCOB) recorded a solitary goal win over Army School (Ramakrishnapuram) in the Sachdev Sports Cup under-14 football tournament organised by Shastri Soccer Club at Trimulgherry Village Grounds here. The match-winner came through striker Basheer.

In another match, Kendriya Vidyalaya (Bolarum) defeated Kendriya Vidyalaya (Begumpet) 2-1 with Kiran and Abhishek netting one goal apiece while AbhilashThapa reduced the margin for the loser.

Mohammad Ali shines

Good spell by Mohammad Ali (five for 35) helped Rushiraj XI record a 30-run win over Deccan Wanderers in the A-Division (one-day) knock-out cricket championship here.

The scores: A-Division (one-day) knock-out: Rushiraj XI 233 (Nadeem 65, S. Ali 42) bt Deccan Wanderers 203 (Siddiqui 45, Mohammed Ali five for 35, Salam bin Yousuf four for 30).

C-Division one-day knock-out: Shalimar 159 for four (Zubair Ghazi 59, Mohammed Sajid Ali 53) lost to Vidyut Soudha 163 for eight (Vasu 52, Chandu 42, Zubair five for 21); Concorde 154 for eight (Vijay 40) bt HCL 145 .

HCA league put off

Hyderabad Cricket Association informs that all the league matches scheduled for February 22 and 23 at different grounds in the twin cities are postponed due to the Telangana Bandh.

Easy for TKR

TKR Engineering College recorded a nine-wicket win over BVR Institute of Technology in the JNTUH Zone-A inter-college cricket tournament here.

The scores: BVR Institute of Technology 104 (Sheshasai 39, Saketh five for 23) lost to TKR Engg. College 106 for one (Akshit Reddy 50 not out, Sumanth 43 not out).

Dinesh to lead

R. D. Dinesh Babu will lead Hyderabad in the National and Inter-State carrom championship for men and women to be held in Chennai from February 22.

IBM wins trophy

IBM recorded a three-wicket win over Accenture in the final of the Prasad'z Premier League cricket tournament for corporate groups, organised by Prasad Sports & Event Managers, at Lahari Resorts near here.

Special prizes were given to Srikanth of HDFC (man of the series), Siddarth of Accenture (player of the final and best bowler of the tournament) and Uday of IBM (best bowler).

Hyderabad Ranji captain D. B. Ravi Teja and Mumbai Indians player Ambati Rayudu gave away the prizes alongwith mr Sanjay Reddy, MD of Lahari Resorts.

The scores: Accenture 98 in 19.4 overs (Shyam 30, Pawan three for 12, Ravinder three for 13) lost to IBM 99 for seven in 17.3 overs (Prabhakar 37, Siddarth four for 10) .
