KOCHI: Venugopala Rao (85), Irfan Pathan (57) and S. Sriram (54) sparkled as MRF (Chennai) defeated SBT (Thiruvananthapuram) by 42 runs in a league match of the 24th BPCL Kochi Refinery all-India cricket tournament at the Kochi Refinery Ground, Ambalamugal, on Monday. Bangalore's State Bank of Mysore crushed Ernakulam's Swantons CC by eight wickets at Ambalamugal while the match between Kottayam's Kenwood Packers Legend CC and Bangalore's Rail Wheel Factory ended in a tie at the Tripunithura Palace Oval. RWF's Yere Goud (93) and Legend's medium-pacer Jesuraj (five for 48) shared the honours in the league game as both teams took two points each. The scores: MRF 245 for six in 30 overs (Venugopala Rao 85, Irfan Pathan 57, S. Sriram 54, T.R. Sudheesh three for 48) bt SBT 203 for nine in 30 overs (K.J. Rakesh 62, Ramakrishna 50, Gnaneswara Rao three for 31). Swantons CC 144 for nine (Abhishek Hegde 45, Anand Katti three for 29, S. Nooruddin three for 39) lost to State Bank of Mysore 145 for two in 21.4 overs (M.K. Manjunath 64 n.o., Karun Nair 68). Kenwood Packers Legend CC 210 for eight in 30 overs (C.P.
