CHENNAI: A Sessions court on Monday sentenced three persons accused in a murder case to life imprisonment. According to a release, Kamesh (23) of New Washermenpet invited his friend Dinesh (27) of the same area for a drink on January 8, 2009. The two were later joined by Premnath (23), Santosh (27), Ramu (27) and Sankar (29). While consuming liquor, an argument ensued between Kamesh and Dinesh. In the melee that followed, Kamesh and others stabbed Dinesh killing him on the spot. Based on a complaint lodged by the victim's brother Gnanarathish, the New Washermenpet Police had registered a case. The seventh Additional Sessions Judge, Kaliamoorthy, who heard the case, sentenced Kamesh, Premnath and Santosh to life. Ramu and Sankar were acquitted, the release said.
