DYFI extends support to strike in Tirupur

Tirupur: The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) has extended support to the strike called by various trade unions in Tirupur cluster on Tuesday.

The agitation called by trade unions such as MLF, AITUC, INTUC, is to draw the attention of the Central and State governments to the crisis faced by the knitwear industry due to the closure of dyeing units following a court order.

Exempted

The strike will cover textile units and shops. Educational institutions and public transport have been exempted from the agitation.
