Erode
ERODE: The Labour Department has initiated legal action against five commercial establishments under the Standards of Weights and Measures (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 1977. A team of officials from the department conducted surprise checks in Erode bus stand and a few other parts in the district following widespread complaints about unfair trade practices. The officials found five commercial establishments selling soft drinks for a price higher than the maximum retail price, and initiated legal action against the owners.
