VIJAYAWADA: Anurag Sarma, Divisional Railway Manager, South Central Railway, Vijayawada division, has said that the young generation should focus on developing entrepreneurship abilities instead of solely looking for job opportunities or career-making. He said that the future of the country depended on the leadership and entrepreneurial spirit displayed by the present generation. Addressing the gathering at the launch of the Business Line Club at Prasad V. Potluri Siddhartha Institute of Technology (PVP SIT) at Kanuru here on Tuesday, Mr. Anurag said that in the present day scenario, the country was facing many challenges on various fronts and there was enough native intelligence to deal with them. He referred to the instance of “dabbawalas” of Mumbai as a fine example of innovative and creative management strategy. S. Ramakrishna, Regional Chief Operating Officer, South East, Tata Tele Services Ltd, said that youngsters would do well if they learn to do the right things first and aim at achieving excellence and perfection in everything they do. Vibrant sector Tata Tele Services Ltd sponsored the Business Line Club activities in the State. Mr. Ramakrishna pointed out that the rapid changes in the telecommunications sector over the decades had brought a sea change in the way people and organisations functioned. He said there was a greater shift towards depending on the mobile phone for data instead of just using this for voice. He further said that a time would soon come when a person would use the mobile phone for almost all purposes, including getting medical service. N. Venkateswarlu, secretary of the Siddhartha Academy of General and Technical Education, said that the telecommunications sector in the country became very vibrant and greatly contributed to the enhancement of living standards by brining within the reach of people the latest technologies from all over the world. He said that young people would have more opportunities in such fast-developing sectors and they should be alert in grabbing these opportunities. K. Chandrasekharan, Regional General Manager of The Hindu, Vijayawada, made a power-point presentation on how students should have to look for a daily update of business news in terms of its depth, width and precision for the sake of getting a competitive grip on current affairs. PVP SIT principal K. Srinivasu, college committee member Vinay Kumar and others were present.
