Fire destroys Gunfoundry shop

Burnt down:Locals taking out articles after a mysterious fire broke out at the UP Handicraft and Handlooms exhibition near Nizam College on Tuesday.
HYDERABAD: Gift articles and other accessories were damaged after fire broke out in a shop at Gunfoundry on Tuesday.
Though exact reasons behind the mishap were yet to be ascertained, officials of the Fire Department said that electrical short-circuit could be one of the causes. Four fire tenders from Secunderabad, Musheerabad, Malakpet and Secretariat along with the advanced fire tender were rushed to the spot after receiving a call around 11 a.m.
Musheerabad Station Fire Officer, Mohammed Akbar said flames were extinguished within an hour and necessary measures were also taken to prevent fire from spreading to other areas. The bandh call has also enabled fire-fighters to carry out their operation without any chaos on the ever-busy road at Gunfoundry.
