Mahindra awards attract 240 entries

NEW DELHI: Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards-2011 have attracted 240 entries from across the country and ten select plays will be staged at Shriram Centre of Performing Arts and Kamani Auditorium here from March 2 to 7.

As a prelude to the final denouement on March 8, ten short-listed theatre productions from various regions will be staged. The plays are Mamtaz Bhai Patangwale (Hindi), Red Sparrow (Hindi), Bayaa Daar Ughad (Marathi), Ambedkar Aur Gandhi (Hindi), Tichee 17 Prakarne (Marathi), Aaj Rang Hai (Hindi), Mythical Surrender (Manipuri), The Interview (English), Punasccha Honeymoon (Marathi) and Dancing on Glass (English).

In a telephonic conversation from Mumbai, META Creative Director Ravi Dubey said there has been an increase in the number of entries and the quality of work with each passing year.
